Relief Print-Titled "Anchor"-from Linolium Block
This assignment was to take a song or litterature and portray the imagry in a single image.  I chose one of my favorite songs "Anchor" by Mindy Gledhill. This song speaks of a girl feeling awkward and restless, everyone treats her like a clown but she found someone who treats her like a queen and helps Anchor her when she starts feeling insecure and ready to flee.  I portrayed this with the obvious imagry (the anchor, the lyrics, and the crown), but also with the more subtle stripes which I drew from the circus as well as the shape I used. Both which refrenced old circus posters and the arrows at the top and bottom to indicate the directions she is being pulled in.  This was my first print ever which made me instantly fall in love with the process.
